The senators of the Socialist Party (PS) questioned the minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency (Segpres), George Jacksonafter announcing that the Executive will place great urgency on the amnesty project for the so-called prisoners of the social outbreak.
The bench issued a public statement and held a press point -whose representatives were the senators Alfonso De Urresti and fidel espinoza. The legislators who lacked coordination in the face of the announcement.

“This project as it has been proposed by Minister Jackson is sterile, it is simply a communicational act on his part, without consultation, without coordination with the Senate and I think that is not good for this project,” said De Urresti, pick up emmol.
“The PS is going to vote for it, but Minister Jackson has to explain what his job has been to get those votes,” he added.
For his part, Senator Espinoza pointed out that “the fundamental error is that a minister who brings a project of these characteristics to Parliament, the first thing he has to know is that he has to have the votes and for that he does pre-legislative work, a lot of dialogue, which has not been done”.
“What I see here is a crafty act by Minister Jackson of trying to install this debate in the Senate knowing that he does not have the votes, to leave the institution in a bad light before the constituent process,” continued the parliamentarian.
Jackson’s response
Faced with criticism, the head of the Segpres, Giorgio Jackson, stated that “I have no problem improving communication channels so that everyone is informed at the same time.”
Jackson explained that the extreme urgency of the project was discussed with “the heads of all the caucuses, of the House and the Senate at the lunch we held yesterday in La Moneda, including the PS caucus, with whom I am going to meet tomorrow.”
“Yesterday we had a meeting with all the benches in La Moneda where we informed them of the itinerary before communicating it in public, we agreed on some points with them. This point in particular was not an imposition of the Executive but it was a query that all the benches agreed that it was important to be able to give it a space in the vote, ”he added.
