Amnesty asks to free political prey Emirlendris Benítez: turns seven in prison

Amnesty International denounces that since his arrest in 2018, Benítez has been a victim of human rights violations, such as torture and inhuman conditions in prison


The Amnesty International (AI) organization asks for the release of the Emirlendris Benítez political dam, who this August 5 turns seven years in prison.

Benítez is held in the National Institute of Women’s Orientation (INOF), located in Los Teques, Miranda State. Amnesty International denounces that since his arrest in 2018, he has been a victim of human rights violations, such as torture and inhuman conditions in prison.

Benítez was arrested in a police alcabala at dawn on August 5, 2018. The merchant performed a taxi service with her partner, Yolmer Escalona, in Caracas.
