Last Tuesday, they seized an important arsenal of weapons and discharged two criminals from the El Mimosín criminal gang, in the Veroes municipality, in a joint operation between the Yaracuy state security forces and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB). .
This was announced this Thursday by the governor of Yaracuy in his radio program Contact with Julius Leonin which he gave details of the procedures performed.
Special operations of security forces
The regional president said that the operation where the weapons were recovered and aliases El Pelayito and a woman who accompanied him were killed, was carried out thanks to the information obtained from one of the detainees last week, in the community of San Pablo from Urama, Carabobo state.
El Pelayito was considered a highly dangerous criminal who used a false identity card to supply weapons, ammunition and drugs to the “El Mimosín” gang. The criminal, with a high police record, was requested by the authorities of Carabobo and Yaracuy for the crimes of homicide, robbery and extortion, among others.
The commander of the Comprehensive Defense Operational Zone (ZODI) in the state, G/D Héctor Mora Pérez, explained that in the procedure 37 caliber 22 cartridges were seized, 56 caliber 7.62 x 39mm cartridges, used by AK rifles, 54 cartridges 7.62 x 51mm caliber Light Range Rifle (FAL) and 25 9mm caliber cartridges.
He commented that thanks to the joint work of the security agencies, the existence of the couple in the state was detected and the search was carried out.
For his part, the commander of the Yaracuy State Police, Commissioner Emilio Rojas, stressed that the operation was carried out flawlessly thanks to the police and military coordination.
«The two subjects were located in the Carbonero sector, Veroes municipality, while they were traveling along the road. When noticing the police presence, they tried to enter a wooded area of the Pan-American highway, but before the security fence a confrontation was generated where they were injured, dying shortly after during the transfer to the entity’s hospital center, “added Rojas.
Likewise, the police chief stressed that arduous police work has been carried out to dismantle this dangerous gang that was deployed in the El Guayabo sector, in Veroes, and of which 13 members have been killed and more than 12 arrested.
“We continue to search for the rest of its members, who have also tried to operate in other states,” he said.

General Mora Pérez added that the effectiveness achieved in the operations in the entity responds to the perfect police-military civic union, which articulates efforts to improve and guarantee well-being, peace and security in the 14 municipalities.
He mentioned that the procedures continue throughout the state, with the support of the agencies involved and intelligence information from the communities themselves, from where the neighbors themselves provide important data.
He also applauded the work carried out by the Bolivarian National Police, the CICPC, the GNB and the Yaracuy Police, which jointly act together with the FANB in the fight against crime in Yaracuy.
“The people can trust that we will not give rest to eradicate these criminal practices that seek to alter the peace and tranquility of the citizenry,” concluded the ZODI commander.
