The president maintained that he was pleased that, despite the great campaign they organized for the march in defense of the INE, “not many people participated.”
“They need more. To get an idea, I calculate that’s why they didn’t come to the Zócalo. They would not have filled even half of the Zócalo, they must have been around 60, 50,000. The Zócalo fills with 120,000. I hope they follow him, that they intend to fill the Zócalo”, he affirmed.
López Obrador assured that in Mexico there are still no clean elections and a lot of money is spent on organizing the elections. He stated that his electoral reform initiative seeks to strengthen the INE and democracy because there are still “risks of electoral fraud.”
