During his conference at the National Palace, when expressly asked about the release of José Manuel del Río, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador stated: We trust the governor of Veracruz (Cuitláhuac García), he is not like the others, he is incapable of fabricating crimes to punish opponents. I raised this matter with him and asked him to investigate it thoroughly, and to clarify it. It is something that has to do with the detention of a person here in Mexico City, with serious crimes, but a summary trial cannot be made, the evidence must be presented
