President Andrés Manuel López Obrador came out yesterday in defense of Senator Héctor Vasconcelos and the head of the Economic Culture Fund (FCE), Paco Ignacio Taibo II, of whom he highlighted their honesty and integrity.
Before the statements of Senator Lilly Téllez against Vasconcelos, the federal president expressed his solidarity and affection in the morning.
“Regardless of the fact that he is the son of José Vasconcelos, and that he has honored him, he is a doctor of letters from Harvard; As if he weren’t enough, a musician, pianist, cultured man, but the best thing about Héctor is that he is an exceptional human being, an endearing friend, I love him very much.
Héctor is exceptional, a great friend, an extraordinary human being. He was offended and he does not deserve it because he is not a controversialist, vulgar, no, he is a correct man, from here I send him a hug
he underlined.
Regarding the general director of the FCE, the president stressed that he is a man of integrity, talented and one of the best writers in the country.
He recalled that last year, when a collection of a million copies of titles on the history and cultural greatness of Mexico was being prepared on the occasion of the bicentennial of the consummation of Independence, the president proposed: “’A book that should be being is yours, buzzard season‘, which is masterful. And his response was: ‘No, I’m not going to publish a book of mine in the Fund’”.
When they attack the author they forget who Paco Ignacio Taibo II is, he is a man of integrity and without a doubt one of the best writers in this country, highly recommended
.
On the other hand, the president announced the appointment of Gabriela Romero Martínez as director of Citizen Attention of the Presidency, replacing Leticia Ramírez, current Secretary of Public Education. The new official has been working for 25 years in the federal and Mexico City governments and in the Tláhuac and Tlalpan mayors’ offices.
