AMLO proposes a "photographic safari" in Sonora, instead of sport hunting

“Alfonso (Durazo, the governor), told me that he got around 1,000,000 dollars for hunting, more or less. We contribute that and more and we reconvert the activity (…) then, analyze it, we sign an agreement (…) and if you think so, when we return it will be in May”, highlighted the federal Executive.

In this way, he scheduled a new meeting on Saturday, May 14, to find out the response to his approach, since he commented that “the truth, apart from the fact that animals deserve good treatment, what they do in some countries is backward.”

He asked them: “Why don’t you analyze how much the permits for hunting animals leave you and use that money for the benefit of the community for whatever you want? Even apart from those (resources), we are going to invest in cabins and tourist activities, without destroying nature.”

In his speech where he was accompanied by Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño, as well as federal and local officials, López Obrador commented that there can be no justice if equality is not sought, for which he instructed federal and state authorities to respond to the development of the Seri people, in terms of education, health, fishing and tourism, among others.
