Guadalajara, Jalisco. In the community of Santa Catarina Cuexcomatitlán, municipality of Mezquitic, in the northern zone of Jalisco, the president of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obradorand the governor, Enrique Alfaropresented the Justice Plan for the Wixárica People.
The President promised justice for the communities, restitution of their lands, as well as improving road and health infrastructure.
“In the case of Jalisco, I am sure that Enrique Alfaro’s plan will work to guarantee the right to health for the people of Jalisco. We have been working together, we are going to continue to do so and above differences, there is the general interest, the interest of the people, the interest of the nation,” said López Obrador.
The president of Mexico also announced that more National Guard barracks will be built with the aim of providing greater security to the area bordering Zacatecas.
“The communities have taken care of themselves, they have preserved the tranquility in their towns, nothing more than that there are already powerful criminal groups and the support of the State is required,” the president stressed.
For his part, the governor of Jalisco affirmed that the fight for justice in that community “has been the product of many years of neglect; It is not and will not be easy to reverse the reality in which these communities live, but today we are laying the foundations and beginning a new stage, joining efforts at all levels of government to do justice”.
President López Obrador promised to return on February 10 of next year to monitor progress and follow up on the plan.
