AMLO presents a package of works for 10,000 million pesos for Quintana Roo

Cancun, Quintana Roo.- Although he acknowledged that sections 6 and 7 of the Mayan Train have not yet started, the president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, ratified that it will fulfill the commitment to inaugurate the railway work at the end of 2023 together with the Tulum Airport.

This weekend, the president is making a supervision tour of the Mayan Train works in the southeast of the country, where as he passes through Quintana Roo led the presentation of the Infrastructure Works Program for the Strengthening of Cancun and Tulum, whose joint investment amount is 10,000 million pesos of public investment.

The program presented includes the Nichupté Vehicular Bridge, at a cost of 4,872 million pesos, whose objective is to provide a new entrance artery to the Cancun hotel zone through the Nichupté lagoon. The bridge will have three 3.5-meter lanes, one in each direction, plus a third reversible lane and two access junctions.

In addition, 11 kilometers of Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard will be modernized, including the improvement of bays for public urban transport, with bus stops and lighting, at a cost of 900 million pesos.

The modernization of the junction of the Cancun International Airport to make highway 307 more efficient, whose announced investment is 200 million pesos.

Finally, for Cancun, the project called Construction of Chac Mool Avenue was presented, with 1.5 kilometers of extension to the north of the Cancun International Airport junction and with an investment of 150 million pesos.

For Tulum, the president and governor Carlos Joaquín announced the Jaguar National Park, which seeks to stop the excessive urban growth of this and surrounding regions, as well as preserve the environment, whose investment is 3,878 million pesos.

The head of the Secretariat of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development (Sedatu) Román Meyer Falcón explained that it is also a measure to contain the expansion of the urban sprawl, which has been growing on the forests, mangroves, endangering natural wealth.

Governor Carlos Joaquín expressed that this protected natural area will grow and allow us to preserve our natural wealth, of which we are proud and of which we live in Quintana Roo.

President López Obrador expressed that his government will continue to support the people of Quintana Roo, because they are exemplary, with a rich history and natural beauty that, through sightseeing, is a main source of income for the state, the southeast and the country.

López Obrador stressed that with these actions, Mexico gives back a little to the people of Quintana Roo, by allocating the resources -which will not be debt, but will go to the state and federal public budget- of about 10,000 million pesos.
