AMLO censors blackmail of Rocío Nahle

During the electoral campaign for governor of Veracruz, the former Secretary of Energy and candidate for the post for Morena, Rocío Nahle, was subjected to blackmail by a television company, which demanded the payment of 200 million pesos, denounced President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. The request for money was made because they supposedly had information about the corruption that had occurred in the construction of the Dos Bocas refinery, which she coordinated.

The company condemned these practices, although it declined to name the television station. It claimed to have alleged invoices that would prove corrupt practices. They accused her of owning property, including her husband having a residence in Nuevo León, and they presented the deed, but it turned out to be owned by a person of the same name.

In a conference, she said that there was a program on that television station where she was accused of thief because he did not give them the money they demanded, And I am sure that those 200 million pesos were not going to the company, but to the officials..

This blackmail was complemented by approaches to the Veracruz business sector, to whom they presented surveys from the firm Massive Caller, in which Nahle was supposedly tied with the opposition candidate.

“They even gathered the big businessmen in the Industrial Club. They did this for the Presidency as well, in the Industrial Club, they showed them surveys. I had already warned them, and they know it because I met (with them). I told them: ‘Don’t let yourselves be fooled.’”

On the other hand, regarding the Ayotzinapa case and the granting of asylum in the United States to a judge linked to the process, he commented that everything was done there, in the Department of Justice. It was a very difficult sentence to uphold because it requires evidence, which we do not yet have, on the premise that the disappearance of the young people was not carried out by local police, but by elements of the army..

López Obrador questioned whether all of this was supported by the testimony of a journalist who has joined the campaign against him without evidence, based on alleged information provided by the US Drug Enforcement Agency and which also implicates him in alleged illicit financing for his electoral campaign in 2006.

I have made my life a straight line and what I consider most important in my life is honesty, that is why I am free and I cannot submit to any blackmail. The President cannot be blackmailed by anyone because that is the practice of some foreign powers: to hold an authority in order to subjugate it and turn it into a puppet at the service of their interests. Where is Mexico’s sovereignty?
