The governor explained that a technical solution was reached to prevent the flooding of the communities of Temacapulín, Acasico and Palmarejo, in addition to creating the aqueduct to connect with the El Salto Dam and the water network to the El Calderón Dam.
Alfaro added that the work will solve the deficit of 1.5 cubic meters per second of water that affects Guadalajara.
“With this entire system and the investment of almost 6,000 million pesos that is going to be made in this great bet, we are going to be able to bring 3 cubic meters per second to the city and we will have solved a problem that had been discussed for 40 years,” he said.
For his part, German Martínez, general director of the National Water Commission (Conagua), reported that this work had been stopped for more than 10 years, however, he anticipated that by the third quarter of 2023 it will generate one cubic meter of water per second already end of the same year will reach 3 cubic meters per second.
“There are 3,000 liters per second that the city of Guadalajara will receive at the end of 2023,” he said.
