Last Friday it was reported that the president planned to meet with Fraser as part of the executive’s visit to the Mexican capital, scheduled for the first week of February, according to sources.
“They requested an interview, the lady will be with us, I will receive her together with the Secretary of the Treasury and surely they will discuss the issue of the bank that is being sold, Banamex,” said the Tabasco politician in his daily conference , without offering details about the place and day of the appointment.
López Obrador advocated that the operation “be resolved soon” for the benefit of the banking system and the country and reiterated his desire that Mexicans be the ones who acquire Banamex.
“That they stay with the bank, that they buy the majority shares of the bank, that is what we are proposing,” he added.
