Both the parliamentarian of Peru Libre and the former undersecretary general of the Presidential Office of Pedro Castillo are currently investigated by the Public Ministry. Appointment occurred in a park in San Miguel, without people around.
Congressman Américo Gonza, from Peru Libre, held a meeting last Wednesday, February 1just a few hours before the project to advance the elections was discussed in plenary session, which was finally archived days later, with Beder Camacho, former undersecretary general of the Presidential Office during the administration of the former president Pedro Castillo. Said conversation was not held in the vicinity of the Congress of the Republic, but in a park in the district of San Miguel, at a time when there was little crowd of people.
The parliamentarian arrived at the meeting with Beder Camacho aboard a white van with tinted windows on behalf of a worker from his office, which was conducted by another of his workers. He sat on one of the benches and they talked for about 40 minutes. Pedro Castillo’s former henchman was wearing a cap.
Currently, parliamentarian Américo Gonza is being investigated by the National Prosecutor’s Office for being the alleged ringleader in charging generals for irregular promotions in the Peruvian National Police (PNP). Meanwhile, Beder Camacho is an effective collaborator in the investigations that are followed by the former president Pedro Castillo.
According to Gonza’s testimony, when consulted by Panorama for said meeting, he indicated that they discussed the reorganization of the Presidential Office of Dina Boluarte: “I am saying that I met, last week, yesterday. I have said that I have met with Beder Camacho yesterday. We talked about the reorganization that exists in the Government Palace by Mrs. Dina Boluarte. As I work from there (he has that information)”.
Although, during the conversation between the two investigated characters, it was heard that Camacho Gadea told Gonza: “Everything is recorded”, but it could not be listen carefully to what he was referring to.
Finally, the congressman defended their right to meet with Beder Camacho, when arguing that as a parliamentarian he can receive any citizen, even if he is an effective researcher and collaborator, and he does it outside his congressional office: “As a congressman I can receive any citizen, whether he is an adviser or not.”
