The American singer Tonya Boyd-Cannon will perform between February 20 and 24 in Havana on the occasion of the Afro-American Month celebrations, the Cuban Institute of Music (ICM) reported this Wednesday.
As part of her visit, the artist will offer a concert on February 20 at the Marti Theaterand a day later it will be presented in the concert hall of the National Museum of Fine Arts, according to a report from the Prensa Latina (PL) agency.

The singer-songwriter’s program includes visits to art schools, cultural institutions and community projects, to share her experiences with musicians and the public on the island, adds the information.
According to the outlet, these presentations are part of an exchange program between the Embassy of the United States in Havanathe Ministry of Culture (Mincult), the ICM and the Office of the City Historian.
Boyd-Cannon is a classically trained vocalist. Her interpretations are marked by various styles such as soul, reggae, funk, rock and gospel.
The artist, born in Mississippi and raised in Louisiana, also plays the piano, organ, drums, and saxophone.
In addition to being a winner of Budweiser’s Battle for the Crown contest and a Top 20 performer on NBC’s The Voice, Tonya has multiple records and has performed at numerous music festivals.
