The Cuban National Symphony Orchestra (OSN) will offer a concert this Sunday under the baton of American Stefan Sanders. The presence of the Master is due to the Cubadisco 2022 International Fair.

Sanders, who repeats on the Island after his debut in 2018, has a rich international career backed by his work as a guest conductor of leading ensembles from the United States, Latin America and Europe, according to a report by Latin Press (PL).

According to the organizers, quoted by this source, the program includes works by renowned American composers of jazz and film music, and also features, as a guest, the Cuban pianist Aldo López-Gavilán.

The symphonic ensemble will perform Cuban Overture and Rhapsody in Blue, by George Gershwin; Adagio for Strings Op. 11, by Samuel Barber; Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story Overture; and John Williams’ ET Adventures on Earth.

The Covarrubias room of the National Theater of Cuba will host the presentation of the OSN at 11:00 local time, during which Cuban Radio will also be recognized on the occasion of its centenary, highlights PL.
