North American producer KC Porter premiered the album La calle está calor, which today reveres traditional music in a journey through various genres and rhythms together with the Cuban group Azabache.
The plate, recorded and mixed entirely in Santiago de Cuba and mastered in Los Angeles, United States, presents singers and musicians from the entire eastern Cuban region that make up an all-star.
I have enjoyed this album, above all I am fascinated by its flavor, its spontaneity. We have recorded music arising from the ability to improvise that the Cuban musician of the town, of the street, has. We are showing the world a lot of currently unknown traditional Cuban music, said KC Porter.
The co-production between the record labels Insignia Records and Meta Platforms, Inc. adds credits to the career of the multiple Grammy and Latin Grammy winner and renowned producer of international artists such as Santana, Michael Jackson, Beyonce and Ricky Martin.
I am a great admirer of Cuban music, which I consider the matrix of much of what is currently being done in the world. I always wanted to be part of a production like this, with an emphasis on the sound roots of Cuba”, he stated.
According to its digital platforms, the album includes ten songs performed by singers from different groups such as Unión Sanluisera, Estrellas de la Charanga, Sonora La Calle, Los Guanches, Septeto Turquino, Changüí Santiago and Conga de Los Hoyos; that cultivate genres that are deeply rooted in the eastern region of the Caribbean country.
In Cuba, the artist had the musical direction of Wilber Jesús Cos and the co-production by Damián Busqueta and Alden González, the latter stated that he was very happy that one of the most important producers in the global music industry had opted for the sound tradition of the island.
Considered one of the producers with the most impact in the world in the last 30 years, KC Porter has 40 albums with tens of millions in sales with highlights for his work on the classic Supernatural, by Mexican guitarist Carlos Santana.
He also contributed his talent to the albums and singles of great artists such as Selena, Beyonce, Shakira, Janet Jackson, Laura Pausini, Celine Dion, Luis Miguel, Sting, Usher, Julio Iglesias, Justin Timberlake and Maná, among many others.
