The American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (amchamdr) assumed the challenge of opening the doors to emerging companies that base their performance on the technology so that they can debut at the technology, entrepreneurship and banking fair, eMerge Americas 2023, where participants will be able to opt for financing.
The president of the Technology and Innovation Committee of the amchamdrVivian Peña, explained to Free Daily that the entity held a contest to sponsor two startups so that they can present their innovation at the fair and be visible to investors who attend the international event, to acquire knowledge and seek business opportunities.
The next February 16th The winners will be announced.
At the fair they will be presenting 100 startupswhich will have the opportunity to participate in an eight-week workshop where they will be prepared to present themselves to the juries of the international event, where one will be chosen to be financed by eMerge.
This year the fair emerge 2023 will take place from April 20 to 21 in Miami. However, the “Technological Mission, Innovation and startups”, headed by executives from the chamber, will start on the 18th of that month so that attendees can participate in the joint integration day that takes place prior to the event.
“These fairs offer companies the opportunity to publicize their products and get new customers in a short-lived setting with a large concentration of networking and marketing. In addition, it is the setting to find out about market trends”, specified the representative of the amchamdr.
In addition to the two innovations that the chamber will bring, the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (Pucmm) will pay for the transfer of three more emerging companies, for a total of five companies of technology and innovation that will be among the 100 newcomers at the eMerge 2023 fair, commented the president of the Committee of Technology of the amchamdr.
Who is the eMerge fair for?
The fair is aimed at the general public who are interested in learning about technological innovationbut, especially for decision makers, managers and middle managers, technicians and personnel related to technologybanking, communications, consulting, students of careers of technology of information and communication (ICT), to foster the foundations of improving their competitiveness and boosting the growth of their companies.
In addition, the participation of more traditional companies that they can obtain from the fair the mechanisms to streamline their processes and take the step towards innovation to respond to the needs of today’s consumers.
To facilitate the presence of more Dominican companies, the American Chamber designed a travel package in which they include discounts for registration in the event and visits to different places of innovation. The agenda is being designed, but Peña assured that they will visit the MIT innovation laboratory.
