A report from the State Attorney General’s Office (PGE), which the president of the Potosinista Civic Committee (Comcipo) Roxana Graz says is true, found responsibilities in the governor of Potosí Jhonny Mamani and other units of the Government for the purchase of the 41 ambulances .
“There are clear indications that there could be responsibility of the Maximum Executive Authority (Governor Mamani), the RPC (Responsible for the Contracting Process), the members of the proposal evaluation commission and the reception commission that subscribes as satisfactory the process. of invitation, evaluation and reception (of the ambulances)”, indicates in one of its operative parts the report that is signed by the attorney Wilfredo Chávez.
The departmental assemblywoman Azucena Fuertes maintains that the report is true, but “this document has not been of official knowledge of the Departmental Legislative Assembly of Potosí (ALDP), because in the Assembly there is no longer a reading of correspondence.”
The ambulance scandal in Potosí began when the Government made the direct purchase, with a price higher than that offered by other companies. The ambulances were supposedly delivered on December 31, but that did not happen.
The report also points to the Legal Unit of the Government that “did not promote the necessary actions”, so that the MAE makes the resolution of the contract and the corresponding “execution of the ballots and / or guarantee policies and in the same way it was not carried out the criminal complaint”.
Given these illegalities, the PGE states: “It is concluded that it is necessary for the PGE to proceed to appear and participate in the criminal proceedings initiated.” This weekend the ambulances will arrive in Chile.
