Today the Toyota Land Cruiser ambulance with license plate G08840, assigned to the Calobre Health Center, an area of difficult access in this region, returned to the province of Veraguas, which was stolen from this health facility, last Friday in the early hours of the morning, it was recovered on the night of Saturday, April 22, in a mechanical workshop in the district of La Chorrera, province of Panama Oeste, by the National Police.
Reina Velarde, regional director explained that “the ambulance will be evaluated by the regional Transportation department, it will require repairs, before returning to the Calobre district, which will take a few days, while we continue with the contingency plan that was launched since Friday to continue providing the ambulance service at this health facility.”
Velarde indicated that she felt pleased and grateful first of all to God, the authorities, the National Police and all those people who helped to recover this ambulance, which is an important vehicle that provides a timely response in emergencies and saves lives, in one of the areas The most complicated in the country, due to its proximity to indigenous areas, where it is frequent to carry out emergency work and transfers due to snake and scorpion bites and also due to complications on the part of minors.
