“The war between Russia and Ukraine will change the world”categorically said the Russian ambassador to Bolivia, Mikhail Ledenev, who traveled to the heart of the Cochabamba tropics to make that statement before some two thousand coca growers concentrated in headquarters of the Six Federations of the Cochabamba Tropics.
“I am going to talk about my land, Russia and the Ukraine, two brother peoples that are now in anger with a great tragedy. Why are we talking about this in the center of Bolivia, quite far from Russia, because this conflict has a very important global dimensionis really defining the future of our world, the consequences are global and they can affect several countries of the world”, said the Russian diplomat as an introduction.
On February 24, Russia launched an armed attack against its neighbor Ukraine in a “special military operation” that sought the “demilitarization and denazification” of Ukrainian land, in the words of the diplomat. The conflict has been going on for more than 100 days and there are no signs of a solution. The Russian ambassador did not mention when that operation will end.
In a speech lasting approximately 15 minutes, the ambassador listed the reasons why his country attacked Ukraine and blamed the US and NATO for having led an arms race in Ukraine, which endangered his country. He also said that the US developed 18 biochemical laboratories in that country and that from there the Russian territory was threatened with other weapons.
Former President Evo Morales said that the Russian ambassadors, Mikhail Ledenev, were invited to the meeting of coca growers; and from Venezuela, Cesar Trompiz, to explain to their bases the fight against the United States.
“To listen to the report of the Russian ambassador on the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the Venezuelan ambassador explaining how the economic, political, and even military aggression against Venezuela, from United States. We have listened to the information to evaluate the political events in the world,” Morales said at a press conference.
It is the first time that the Russian diplomat appeared on a mass stage and where he explained what is happening to his country in the war with Ukraine. He said that there is a cooperation program with Bolivia that covers several areas and highlighted the nuclear center that was built in El Alto and another in Santa Cruz.
The event was attended by the third man in the country, the President of the Senate, Andrónico Rodríguez; the senator, Leonardo Loza and the head of the MAS bench in Deputies, Gualberto Arispe.
