Ambassadors are “reprimanded” at the Foreign Ministry for not attending events of the Nicaraguan regime

Ambassadors are "reprimanded" at the Foreign Ministry for not attending events of the Nicaraguan regime

The ambassadors based in Managua, especially those from the European Union, are victims of “sick harassment and harassment” by the dictatorship of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, revealed to Article 66 the former Nicaraguan ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS) Arturo McFields.

For six months, the ambassadors of the European Union have been called to “consultations” before the Foreign Ministry to be reprimanded by Vice Chancellor Arlette Marenco. The claims of the regime to the diplomats are due to the non-attendance to the propaganda activities of the dictatorship and its institutions.

“Rosario Murillo does not forgive that the ambassadors do not attend any of his propaganda events and is also upset by the position of the European Union with the issue of Nicaragua before the UN Assembly (United Nations Organization),” McFields stressed.

Another of the reasons that would have led the dictatorship to undertake this harassment of the diplomatic corps of the European bloc and even the expulsion of ambassador Bettina Muscheidt is the position of the countries of the old continent regarding the situation in Nicaragua.

“This (the reprimanded) is for any type of activity, meeting, event, any type of social campaign they want to do or something as harmless as a film festival. Any activity is the victim of hate-filled persecution and harassment emanating from El Carmen,” McFields said.

“Ambassadors are constantly harassed and lectured. They are called to the Foreign Ministry to receive a shower of scoldings that come from El Carmen and are executed by the Vice Foreign Minister Arlette Marenco and sometimes by the Foreign Minister Denis Moncada, who has very little activity in terms of relations with the ambassadors, since truly exercises these activities of scolding and sermons to diplomats, pressure and harassment is the vice chancellor, “he added.

The former diplomat stated that the constant and permanent harassment against the ambassadors “seems that the regime wants to force them to resign.” He stated that in these “reprimands” they do not have the slightest respect or diplomatic treatment towards the ambassadors because Vice Chancellor Marenco uses “vulgar and coarse” language.

“That message for her is unbearable because more sanctions may come for her. El Carmen is paranoid with the arrival of new sanctions and because several European parliamentarians joined the campaign to sponsor a political prisoner who demand her release, “she added.

Marenco, delegated to be the executioner of the diplomats, is also a presidential adviser for international relations, cooperation secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and deputy foreign minister.
