passed away human rights adviser to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mirex), Cristina Aguiar, informed the ambassador of the internal service of that entity, Jatzel Román.
The information is also confirmed by the Duartian Instituteof which Aguiar was a part.
“Aguiar, diplomat, jurist, consecrated patriot and worthy fighter for fundamental rights and guarantees,” highlights the Duartiano Institute in a tweet this Sunday.
The jurist stood out for being the promoter at the United Nations (UN) of the International Day of Nonviolence, on November 25 in honor of the sisters Patria, María Teresa and Minerva Mirabal.
“Saddened by the passing of a dear colleague and friend, Cristina Aguiar. May he rest in peace and my condolences to his relatives”, was the reaction of the former Vice President of the Republic Rafael Alburquerque also on the social network Twitter.
The cause of the diplomat’s death is unknown.
