Amazonas will have a second round to choose the state governor on October 30th. Wilson Lima (União) had 42.15% of the valid votes and is contesting the second round with candidate Eduardo Braga, from the MDB, with 20.63% of the valid votes.
So far, 98.79% of the polls have been counted.
At 46 years old, Wilson Lima is the current governor and candidate for reelection. He has a degree in journalism and was born in Santarém (PA). He was a reporter, broadcaster and presenter of the program Alô Amazonas. The deputy governor on the ticket is Tadeu de Souza (Avante), 50 years old.
Eduardo Braga, 61 years old, holds the position of senator for the second consecutive term, has already been governor of Amazonas on two occasions and mayor of Manaus. He was also elected state deputy and federal deputy. The candidate was also head of the Ministry of Mines and Energy. His deputy is the national secretary for women of the PT, Anne Moura.
