ECUP is a celebration for the gaming community. The UTP seeks to foster national talent and create a space where players can demonstrate their skills and compete for great prizes.

This year, the tournament is expanding its scope and for the first time is not limited to Efootball, but is incorporating three popular video games: Dota 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Valorant.

Registration for the tournament is free and open to the general public. In Huancayo, the virtual phase of the tournament begins on September 10 and the teams that manage to advance in this virtual stage will face each other in a face-to-face phase on the 14th of the same month at the UTP Huancayo Campus, located at San Agustín de Cajas 12007, Huancayo.

Those interested in attending the event will be able to win various prizes and join the activations of the sponsoring brands. Entry will be from 10:00 am and for those who cannot attend or are from other cities, they will be able to follow the entire tournament live through the Twitch channel @universidadutp and the UTP Tiktok (universidadutp).

The teams that win the in-person phase in Huancayo will have the opportunity to compete against the finalists from the other 12 UTP campuses, such as Chiclayo, Chimbote, Piura, Ica, Arequipa and Trujillo, whose first phase has already ended. After Huancayo, we will have the tournament in Lima and finally the National Grand Final, which will also be held in the capital in October.

This competition has the collaboration of important partners such as Lenovo, Yape, Radio Moda, Radio Planeta and Claro Gaming, and aims to promote a competitive environment in the world of eSports, highlighting the growing role of Peru in this industry at an international level.

“In Peru, the gaming world is gaining great relevance, not only as a form of entertainment, but also as a platform for professional development. At the Universidad Tecnológica del Perú we recognize this trend and actively promote the learning of new technologies, providing our students with courses and programs that allow them to complement their profiles. We also organize tournaments that not only encourage healthy competition and teamwork, but also serve as a showcase for emerging talent in the field of eSports and video game development,” said Alejandra Rojas, Director of Employability at UTP.

UTP also offers its students gaming workshops, informative talks called “Gamer Zone” related to the video game industry and university careers, as well as alliances and video game communities such as the Peruvian PES League, Konami, Moonton, among others.
