Amaru Villanueva Rance passed away in the last few hours. The young intellectual from La Paz was close to turning 37 and his death generated multiple reactions among politicians and journalists, due to his outstanding career.
“I deeply regret the death of Amaru Villanueva Rance, a young intellectual and friend of mine with whom I was able to share many experiences. My deepest condolences to the family, all my solidarity and support in these hard times”, posted the Minister of Government, Eduardo Del Castillo.
The graduate in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, with an MSc in Internet Social Sciences, both from Oxford Universityserved as director of the Center for Social Research and the Bolivian Bicentennial Library.
“Your space journey has begun. You stay in my heart always, dear friend. How beautiful was the life shared with you. Today I cry and smile at you”, published the political scientist Susana Bejarano.
In his turn, journalist Mario Espinoza highlighted Villanueva’s participation in his political analysis television program. “Great person who knew how to be a brilliant part of the Pentagon. Peace in his grave”, he indicated.
Amaru too served as project coordinator at the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Foundation (FES). He worked in the areas of innovation and strategy in telecommunications, founded the Bolivian Express magazine and was also co-editor of the supplement ‘El Disacuerdo’.
“One of the brightest minds of this time will always be that of #AmaruVillanueva. His fine lucidity, and his ability to brighten anyone with his smile are unforgettable.. None of this changes now. See you always, dear friend. Thank you for the talks, advice and opinions,” said the former MAS deputy, Valeria Silva.
