During the first ordinary session of the Chamber of Deputies, Celeste Amarilla, a national deputy for the Liberal Party (PLRA), exposed before the plenary session the links between Colorado politicians and organized crime.
During his oratory he exposed several connections. First he quoted Fadh Jamil Georges, alias “the godfather” or “the border king.” It has 16 arrest warrants for contract killing, drug trafficking, arms trafficking and other crimes. He is accused of being the moral author of the attack against the now deceased Deputy Robert Acevedo (PLRA).
Then there is Darío Messer, one of the most important money launderers in Brazil, who carried out part of his operations in Paraguay. He is linked to former President Horacio Cartes.
In third place, former Deputy Magdaleno Silva (ANR) appears. He was part of the Nicanor Duarte Frutos team until he joined the ranks of “Honor Colorado” of former President Cartes. He is accused of being an associate of leaders of the First Capital Command (PCC) and the Vermelho Command, both groups dedicated to organized crime in Brazil.
In fourth place, appears Carlos Rubén Sánchez, alias “Chicharo”, leader of “Honor Colorado”. He was accused of the murder of more than 20 people. He was hidden for almost two years, at times, even hidden in Mburuvicha Roga when Horacio Cartes was president.
His brother, Denilson Sánchez, alias “Chicharocito”, was arrested the day he was sworn in as mayor of Capitán Bado, Amambay district. He belonged to the “Honor Colorado” movement.
The sixth man cited was Vilmar Acosta Marques alias “Neneco”. He was mayor of the district of Ype Jhú (Canindeyú) for the “Honor Colorado” movement. He is accused of having the journalist Pablo Medina and his assistant Antonia Almada killed. Later he asked the Colorado deputy Chartist Cristina Villalba for protection.
Precisely because of Villalba, she mentioned that she is close to Carlos Sánchez. The narco Ezequiel de Souza stated at the time that he paid Villalba in exchange for protection. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison after the “Black Eagle” operation.
He then cited Bernardo “Lalo” Villalba, former deputy. He himself was part of a narco-political gang with Magdaleno Silva and Marcial Lezcano, all chartists. In his capacity as a narco lawyer, he defended several representatives of the Comando Vermelho and the PCC.
Cinthia Tarragó, the former Deputy for “Honor Colorado”, is currently in prison in the United States, for offering her services for money laundering.
Finally, he cited Alberto Koube Ayala, a businessman who supported Santiago Peña’s campaign in the 2018 presidential elections.
“This is proof of how the links between drug trafficking and the ANR exist,” he said.
