Santo Domingo, DR.- Congressmen from the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) chose Amado Díaz as spokesman for the Deputies Bloc.
The selection was made in the National Congress in a historic meeting attended by 145 pro-government legislators.
Luis Báez will be the deputy spokesperson and Jackeline Fernández will be the secretary of the parliamentary bloc.
Amado Díaz is a deputy for the third time, elected in the Santo Domingo Province District. He was sworn in by the vice president of the PRM, Eddy Olivares.
Upon taking the oath of office, Congressman Díaz reaffirmed his commitment to defending the best national interests.
“We will always defend national interests above our own, supporting all initiatives that seek collective well-being and the institutional development of the country,” he said.
He said he would advocate for good relations between the Legislative, Executive and Judicial branches.
