The President of Parliament, Maria del Carmen Alvaasked President Pedro Castillo to meet with the peasant patrols and demand an explanation for the kidnapping of Fourth Power journalists yesterday.

“The President of the Republic should meet with the patrolmen, he should call them and ask for an explanation if he does not set the limit or the strike, next week it could be you,” he added.
Along these lines, he considered that the gag law proposed by the Government, which proposes to punish judges and prosecutors who reveal confidential information, is another attack on press freedom.
“The gag law is an attack against freedom of expression, the majority of spokespersons are against it, let us remember what has happened with Cuba and Venezuela: the first thing they take is the media”, he asserted.
