In a game that was suspended on Wednesday and ended this Thursday, Venezuelan second baseman José Altuve hit a home run and drove in three runs that credited him as the main figure in the victory of the Houston Astros 3-11 over the Minnesota Twins.
Altuve hit the ball out of the park in the third inning with no one in circulation against right-hander Chris Archer (0-1), who started for the Twins, in the first of two games between the two teams Thursday.

The second baseman added two laps to his individual production in the sixth inning with a double to right field that brought two runners to the plate.
The Astros also had the offensive contribution of Dominican Jeremy Peña, who drove in three runs, the first on a sacrifice fly in the first inning and two more on a single to center field in the third act of the game.
Outfielder Kyle Tucker also hit the ball out of the park and added two RBIs for the Astros, who also got an RBI and a run scored by Jose Siri.
Dominican Republic’s Bryan Abreu (1-0) credited the victory by pitching two innings of one run and four strikeouts.
Archer (0-1) was tagged for five runs in just three innings to be the Twins’ loser.
Dominican Jorge Polanco drove in two runs, the first by a double in the first inning and the second by a single in the ninth.
For the Astros, Altuve went 2-for-5, with two runs scored and three RBIs. Peña finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs and Siri 1-for-5 with one run scored and one produced.
For the Twins, Polanco went 2-for-4 with two runs to the plate.
