Altice celebrates ten years in the country

Upon reaching its tenth anniversary in the country, the company Altice Dominicana reported that it has invested 60 million pesos in the last 6 years in sustainable projects in terms of social responsibility.

“We have carried out projects where we provide fiber optic connectivity free of charge to these institutions and we have already invested 60 million pesos in this area,” said Liza Arzeno, director of Institutional Relations of the entity, during a courtesy visit to this newspaper along with other executives.

Also present were Gilda Vásquez, Corporate Vice President, and Bethania Ortega, Senior Public Relations Manager.

Representatives of Altice explained that the foundation of the same name has improved the living conditions of vulnerable populations in the country by facilitating access to technology over the past six years.

In this regard, they assured that more than 13 academic training projects have been developed in which high-speed Altice fiber optic internet has been provided free of charge to vulnerable communities in the country.

“During the years that the Foundation has been in operation, we have provided connectivity to different allied institutions for the development of communities,” said Arzeno.

The director of Institutional Relations stated that the telecommunications company will continue to invest in educational programs, and especially in technological education.

“We are going to continue with this investment, which is increasingly stronger from a social point of view. We have discovered that this pillar is linked to the development of people, specifically in terms of education, technological education,” said the executive.

Company complies

On the other hand, Liza Arzeno highlighted that the company occupies seventh place in fulfilling its tax commitments and fourth in the ranking as advertisers in the Dominican Republic.

“In 10 years of serving 4 million customers with more than 5 thousand direct and indirect employees, we are the seventh largest taxpayer and the fourth largest advertiser in the country,” said Arzeno.

Provides free internet to technology programs

Among the projects that the Altice Foundation has provided with connectivity services are Centro Futuro and Futuro de Esperanza, both initiatives of the Mayor’s Office of the National District.

Likewise, Perfecto Labs, in Yamasá, an initiative by Milka Santana, in addition to a strategic alliance with the Nature Power Foundation of Laura Rojas, among others.

On the other hand, they plan to promote technological education or Stern aimed at the female gender, since they consider that there is a high need for female telecommunications technicians and engineers in the country, so they plan to contribute in that area.

He said that since 2014, Altice has invested “70 billion pesos, which represents more than 7 billion annually.”
