Continuing its search for strategies to find solutions to the problem of poor waste disposal in the city centre of David, the mayor’s office called another meeting with local merchants.
Mayor Joaquín De León participated in the meeting and said that it was an important meeting with a group of 35 merchants with the aim of resolving the issue of poor disposal of garbage generated by commercial activity.
The meeting was also attended by the manager of the company Servicios Ambientales de Chiriquí (SACH), who together with local authorities and companies will establish strategies to create a cleaner and more orderly city, which is the vision and interest of the mayor’s office.
He stressed that in terms of investment, the aim is to reorganize and reorder 4th Avenue through decentralization funds.
Another of the topics discussed at the meeting was the presence of lunatics on the streets, many of whom are responsible for spreading garbage on the streets, and the need to carry out prophylaxis operations in coordination with different institutions and non-governmental organizations to give these people the proper treatment was considered.
He said that a municipal agreement is being proposed that will establish more severe sanctions for people who are caught disposing of garbage improperly and who do not contribute to maintaining a clean city and who encourage the creation of illegal dumps.
