Santo Domingo. – He National Institute of Transit and Land Transport (Intrant) reported on the opening of alternate routes starting this coming Friday, August 16, due to the activities of the President’s inauguration Luis Abinader.
In this regard, vehicle traffic will be controlled in the area around the National Theatre, on Máximo Gómez Avenue, and the National Congress, on Jiménez Moya. For this reason, the agency recommends that citizens use Independencia, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln avenues.
Other alternate routes enabled in the National District correspond to Horacio Vicioso and Héroes de Luperón streets.
At the same time, the Intrant will implement, starting tomorrow, Thursday, August 15, another special plan that will facilitate the flow of vehicles, mainly due to the activities that will be taking place in the Colonial City.
Users traveling east are advised to use Pedro Henríquez Ureña, Mexico, and 27 de Febrero avenues from Máximo Gómez.
For those traveling west, Mexico Avenue is recommended.
For this plan of intermittent closures in some streets, the entity coordinated with the corresponding mayors. In this context, Intrant asks for the understanding of the general public. It also explains that the measure is added to the actions carried out so that families can move safely on the roads.
Citizens are also asked not to park in restricted areas or carry out work on public roads without prior authorization.
