Alternate preliminary hearing for ‘red devils’ bus compensation case will begin next Monday, March 14

The First Liquidator Court of Criminal Cases of the First Judicial Circuit of Panama, informed the intervening parties and the general public, that next Monday, March 14, at 8:30 am, the Alternate Preliminary Hearing will begin within the criminal process followed by the so-called “Red Devils Bus Compensation” case, to 543 accused for the alleged commission of the crime Against the Public Administration, to the detriment of the Traffic and Land Transportation Authority (ATTT).

In that sense, to qualify the legal merit of this summary, the hearing will be held at the Roberto Durán Arena Gymnasium due to the large number of defendants, and its programming is contemplated until May 13 of this year.

The First Liquidator Court of Criminal Cases, in charge of Judge Águeda Rentería, in order to guarantee the right to defense of all the accused and the holding of the hearing act on the alternate date, has the support of the Defense Institute Public, who will act as main and alternate defenders, in case the Private Defense of the accused cannot attend the hearing.

This case is related to the “Administrative Rescue Process of the Collective Public Passenger Transportation System for the Implementation of the New Mass Mobilization System in the Districts of Panama and San Miguelito.”
