The businessman Alonso Ancira Elizondo, majority shareholder of Altos Hornos de México (AHMSA), made the second payment –of three that must be made– to repair the damage caused to Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) for having sold the company Agronitrogenados at an overpriced price and for this made the deposit of 54 million dollars corresponding to the resources committed in 2022.
Sources close to the defense of Ancira Elizondo informed the day That with this amount they already add up to 104 million of a total of 220 million dollars that must be covered as part of the agreement reached with Pemex and the Attorney General’s Office (FGR).
This agreement occurred after the owner of AHMSA was arrested in Spain in 2019 and later, after being extradited to Mexico, he was imprisoned, as part of the criminal proceedings that were opened against him for the crime of operations with resources of illegal origin. by illegally obtaining money from the sale of Agronitrogenados to Pemex, and also proving that he delivered a bribe of 3.5 million dollars to the then director of the Mexican State productive company, Emilio Lozoya Austin, in order to finalize the negotiation.
Alonso Ancira Elizondo made the first payment of 50 million dollars in November 2021 as part of the reparation agreement for the Agronitrogenados case, and although he has already made the second installment, the deposit of the guarantees agreed with Pemex and the FGR remains in force. as support that the employer will comply with the agreement.
