On the afternoon of this January 31, 2021, residents and passersby of La Gasca, north-central Quito, reported a flood.
In photos and videos it is visualized how mud and stones are dragged by a current of water; product of heavy rains in the capital.

Rescuers and paramedics from Quito firefighters and technicians from the Secretary of Security are on site. Mayor Santiago Guarderas, immediately moves to the place. The Quito Fire Department sent 10 specialists to Pucayacu, La Maná, to support evacuation and security tasks for the inhabitants affected by the overflow of the Quindigua River. (AVV)
