The president of the Alliance for Venezuela, Liset Luque, explained that the Argentine Venezuelan Center will provide workshops and talks oriented to professional improvement, labor insertion and training in skills for entrepreneurship
The Civil Association Alliance for Venezuela (AXV) inaugurated on Saturday, April 12, in the City of Buenos Aires, the first Argentine Venezuelan Center «Araguaney», conceived as a space for cultural, social and professional integration for Venezuelan migrants in Argentina.
The opening ceremony was attended by authorities of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, legislators, ambassadors, and representatives of the Venezuelan and Argentine community. Also, dozens of Alliance Volunteers for Venezuela accompanied the day and celebrated the concretion of this project, after weeks of work in the restoration of the house, located in Julián Álvarez 866, in the neighborhood of Villa Crespo.
The president of the AXV, Liset Luque, He explained that the center will provide workshops and talks oriented to professional improvement, labor insertion and training in entrepreneurship skills. It will also offer information and accompaniment on immigration regularization and homologation of educational and professional titles.
In addition, he announced that in a second phase of the project it is expected to enable an office in alliance with the Association of Venezuelan Physicians in Argentina, with the aim of providing basic medical care and health orientation to migrants. Likewise, the construction of a kitchen equipped to teach workshops and training to Venezuelan gastronomic entrepreneurs is projected.

“Today a space for the integration of our migrant community is born, a space to convey our culture and traditions to our Argentine-Venezuelan children who were born in this land that opened the doors when we need it most,” said Luque.
For his part, Alexander Galvis, former president and current executive director of Alliance for Venezuela, explained that the center is a dream come true thanks to the sustained effort of volunteers and a cooperation project with the Inter-American Foundation (IAF), which allowed to cover the rent. “This space is the result of many hands that worked to condition this building, which now becomes a meeting point, support and training for our community,” he said.
Elisa Trotta, founding member of the organization, thanked the warm reception that Argentina has provided to the Venezuelan diaspora and stressed that more than 100,000 people have benefited, directly or indirectly, for the work of the NGO.
«When we founded Alliance for Venezuela in 2018, we did it with the intention of holding a hand to those who were fleeing the dictatorship. As years ago, it happened backwards. I know very well because my dad was one of the many Argentines who escaped to Venezuela, where he found a home, formed a family and built his story. Now, years later, Argentina has undoubtedly been the country that has best received Venezuelans, ”said Trotta.
Among the present authorities, he highlighted the participation of the Government Vicarjefa of the City of Buenos Aires, Clara Muzzio, who expressed his recognition to the Venezuelan community for his contribution to the social, cultural and economic life of the city.
The opening day was loaded with symbolism and culture with the presentations of the Venezia orchestra, composed of Venezuelan musicians; the Aguaitacaminos group, which presented a Venezuelan joropo dance; and a vibrant Argentine folklore dance by the Aroniafolk group.
This new space is consolidated as a bridge between cultures and a specific tool for the well -being, integration and development of the Venezuelan community in Argentina.
