Santo Domingo. – The Emergency Operations Center (COE) reported that during New Year’s Eve and the first hours of the New Year nine people died, all as a result of motorcycle accidents.
In its most recent bulletin of the second phase of the operation “Awareness for Life, Christmas and New Year 2024-2025”the entity identified one of the deceased as Mikerson Boursiquot, whose age is unknown, who died as a result of an incident that occurred on Punta Cana Avenue in an east-west direction, in front of the Yonu hotel, in the province of La Altagracia.
He also noted that young Kelvin Alexander Santiago, 19, died on Sánchez Highway in the San Miguel neighborhood of San Cristóbal.
According to the COEboth perished within the areas of operations of the plan designed for the operation, while the rest lost their lives outside the security device.
Among these is Mariano Santana, 55 years old, who died on Hermanos Trejo Avenue, in front of the Pica Pollo Costa China, in the San Martín sector in Higüey; and the five-year-old girl Raissa Charlotte Aristil, on the Yuma highway, also in the La Altagracia province.
Likewise, there is Martin Alejandro Soriano, 24 years old, who lost his life early this Wednesday on the La Toma highway, in San Cristóbal; as well as William Darío Tejada, 68 years old, who died on the main street of Monte Negro, Rancho Arriba, in San José de Ocoa.
Likewise, he noted that Pedro Antonio Ventura, 33 years old, died on the main street of Peñuela in a south-north direction, near the town’s polyclinic in Valverde, Mao; in addition to Alexander Rosario Belén, 27, and Francisco Antonio de Jesús Hernández, 26, on the Yamasá highway, on the Abejas climb, in Monte Plata.
The COE also recorded in its report that 145 people suffered alcohol poisoning; of which, 29 were minors between 12 and 17 years of age.
