Holidays are one of the most anticipated dates for workers to be able to travel, spend time with family, friends or as a couple. And from this 2022 Peru has gone from having 12 to 14 holidays in its calendar. Do you know how many holidays the month of August will have now?

HOW MANY HOLIDAYS WILL PERU HAVE IN AUGUST?

- 6th August: The Battle of Junín is commemorated, considered an important milestone in the country’s struggle for independence.
- August 30th: celebrates the Feast of Santa Rosa de Lima, in commemoration of the First Saint of America and patron saint of the National Police of Peru.
WILL THERE BE A LONG HOLIDAY IN AUGUST?
Yes. The next long holiday will not be for the Battle of Junín, but the Day of Santa Rosa de Lima. August 30 will be Tuesday and it will be a bank holiday with Monday, August 29, which has been declared by the government as a non-working day, along with Saturday 27 to Tuesday 30, which are regular days off. These days can be used to travel and spend time with families, among others.
IF I WORK ON AUGUST HOLIDAYS, WILL I BE PAID TRIPLE?
Both August holidays, the 6th and the 30th, are declared through the Legislative Decree 713, as a paid break for workers subject to the labor regime of private activity. That is, if a worker works on Saturday, August 6, without substitute rest, he will receive a triple payment for the following concepts:
- A daily remuneration for the holiday: amount included in the usual salary.
- A second remuneration for the work done: Additional payment per day worked.
- A third remuneration for having worked on a holiday, without subsequent substitute rest.
