All set and ready: Senate approves 12 remaining names and completes the 24 members of the Expert Commission of the constituent process

The new constituent process continues to be configured. This, because the Chamber of the Senate approved with a wide margin the list with the 12 names proposed by the political parties to be part of the Expert Commission, which will be in charge of drafting, together with the new body, the proposal for a new Constitution .

Specifically, the list was endorsed by 41 votes in favor, three against and one abstention, and what is striking is that a “political” logic prevailed, where each of the parties “installed” an expert in in relation to their ties, more than because of their technical or legal knowledge, among which ex-authorities of the governments of Sebastián Piñera and Michelle Bachelet stand out.
