Alipio Vera, co-founder of Informe Especial and National Journalism Award winner, passed away at the age of 77

Journalist Alipio Veraco-founder of the program special report and National Journalism Award in 2013, passed away this Monday at the age of 77.

Vera was admitted to the Clinical Hospital of the Catholic University. This, after suffering complications after a cardiac operation. The journalist suffered several heart attacks and a stroke at the beginning of March.

Vera was born on August 25, 1945 in Puerto Montt, Los Lagos Region. He studied Journalism at the University of Chile, where he graduated in 1969.

The professional entered the same 1969 to Chilean National Television (TVN), where he covered the accident of flight 571 of the Uruguayan Air Force in the Andes Mountains.

He left the channel between 1979 and 1981 to direct the newspaper the southern from Temuco. Later he returned to TVN and in 1984 he co-founded the journalistic investigative program special report.

The journalist permanently left the signal in 1995 and joined the Press Department of Channel 13. There she stood out in the Reports section of telethirteen.

Left the Channel 13 in 2015 and entered Mega.

Vera received different distinctions throughout her career, such as the Rubén Darío Award (1987) or the National Journalism Award (2013).
