The authorities managed to capture four dangerous members of the criminal group “Los Palmeños”. Among those arrested is alias “Kike”, identified as the second ringleader and who was part of the most wanted cartel in the department (of Chocó).

The main operation took place in the municipality of Unión Panamericana, where the two main objectives were captured: Alias ​​“Kike”: Second ringleader of “Los Palmeños” and listed as one of the most wanted in Chocó.

He has an extensive criminal record, including three entries for homicide and seven for other crimes. Alias ​​“Cucho Alirio”: Designated as zone coordinator and promoter of crimes such as extortion, theft and drug trafficking. He has four notes for different criminal behaviors.

According to the investigations, the structure of “Los Palmeños” generated anxiety and insecurity in the community, seriously affecting the economic development of Chocó.

The modus operandi was based on violent intimidation, since the criminals threatened their victims (mainly merchants) with the activation of explosive devices in their commercial establishments to force the payment of million-dollar economic demands.

This was confirmed; Colonel Edgar Andrés Correa Tobón, Gaula National Police director. Simultaneously, the offensive against the structure spread to other cities, achieving two additional captures: Alias ​​“Berrido”: Captured in Quibdó.

He is identified as the driving force behind multiple crimes in the capital of Chocó and the person in charge of obtaining weapons for the group. Alias ​​“King”: Captured in Pereira (Risaralda). He was in charge of promoting extortion against merchants and residents of the Horizonte and Las Palmas de Quibdó neighborhoods. in addition to executing homicides and robberies.
