Alianza Lima debuts in League 1 against Sport Huancayo, but the match will not be televised

This Friday, January 30, Alianza Lima faces Sport Huancayo in its first match of League 1 2026, scheduled for 12:00 p.m. m. at the IPD Stadium in Huancayo. Tickets sold out quickly and today they are resold between 110 and 115 soles. The National Police maintains a security operation to control the entry of fans and avoid incidents.

At warm-up time, the bars of both teams are already in front of the stadium with drums, drums, banners and colored smoke, showing their enthusiasm for the debut of the season.

However, the excitement is dampened by a broadcast problem: the match will not be televised due to outstanding debts owed by 1190 Sports to the Peruvian Professional Football League. The decision was communicated to the delegate of the meeting, Luis Arenas, who was instructed to prevent the deployment of the transmission equipment until an addendum is signed that reduces the payment dates and the arrears are regularized.

The conflict arises because the clubs have not yet received payments for November and December 2025. The company 1190 Sports has the television rights for League 1 since 2023, after signing a contract with the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), but so far it has not fulfilled all its obligations.

The FPF had sought for the clubs to receive the payments corresponding to January with the promise of paying the outstanding amounts from previous months later. The League, however, decided to maintain its firm stance, which leaves fans without the official broadcast of the expected duel.
