The National Director of Employment of the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development (Mitradel), Alfredo Mitre, spoke on Monday about labor activation in the country, stating that since November of last year there have been no suspended contracts.

He revealed that about 10 or less than 15% lost their jobs, either due to dismissals or mutual agreements, for which Mitradel has designed a series of strategies in conjunction with several companies in the country.

Miter recalled that we come from an unemployment rate, which reached a crisis level in 2020 with 18.5% and then, we have progressively lowered it until we currently reach 9.9%.

“We are in a process of revitalizing employment so that the projections of international organizations can be met, which indicate that by December of this year, when the measurement of the Statistics and Census Institute of the Comptroller’s Office is made again, we can return to 7% or close to where we were in 2019 before the pandemic,” he said.
