MEMORIES
“Mario was by my side when I started writing. My first book, at his request, gave it to read and advised me what I should do, even from the point of view of the editors. He recommended me to choose Carlos Barral, of the Seix Barral publishing house,” said Bryce Echenique, who is retired from the literary trade.
“I had time to attend multiple orders from young people who approached him with the illusion that he was read a book,” said the author of “A World for Julius”, which reaffirms the generosity of Vargas Llosa with the N refuel authors with whom he never ceased to be in real contact.
“Mario found time for everything. He was miraculous. And this is based on the order of his life: a deeply ordered man, with schedules for everything, and that he worked in other tasks to be able to survive in Paris. I remember that he worked at night and got up very early to write. One really wondered what time he slept,” Bryce recalls.
NOSTALGIA
The author of “A world for Julius” highlighted the literary work of the winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature of 2010, as well as his “cleaning and enormity.” “It is a duel for Peru and for each of the Peruvians. No one has represented them both before the entire world and Mario.”
