The presidential candidate of Ahora Nación, Alfonso López-Chau, reported that his party’s candidates who have complaints or sentences have been invited to resign and that the cases are “in the Ethics Commission for eventual sanction or expulsion from December 2025.”
“Now the Nation’s mission is to restore the sense of greatness to Peruvian politics and extract it from the lowness to which it has been subjected,” he highlighted.
Likewise, he questioned the lack of oversight of members of other parties. “It is striking that so much space is dedicated to the Ahora Nación party, ignoring what everyone knows and that is that the criminals are in other political parties, however, there is a silence about them that screams: What’s happening! Why don’t they investigate?” he exclaimed.
López-Chau: “I don’t want to be a president tied to a congress with a majority”
