When Alexis Villalona was taken to a cell in the National Police Palace, told reporters that he feels sorry for what he did on January 1 against a woman in Baní, Peravia province.
He added that he was under the influence of alcohol early that Saturday morning New Year and he apologized not only to Santa Arias, the woman he slapped several times, but also to the country and the authorities.
«The lion» from Baní, as he was identified on social networks after the video of the aggression, it was seen tearful while addressing the reporters who were stationed at the headquarters of the institution to ensure order.
During the capture of the aggressor, who was at noon this Friday, wanted to give some explanations to the commander in charge of the operation. “But I am not a criminal,” Villalona assured the colonel, while another agent was preparing to handcuff him, as shown in a video.
There could be more involved in the case
The prosecutor of the Peravia province, Angel Dario Tejada, assured that the investigation into the case of Villalona remains open, since “in the process it was possible to identify several people who were helping him to hide it”, who could also be charged, including other family members, for allegedly complicity and concealment of a fugitive.
The magistrate gave the information during a press conference at the National Police Palace. He added that the woman who was with Villalona in the vehicle that night is pregnant and enters the case as a victim.
It is recalled that the person arrested today had a firearm in his right hand, according to what is presented in a video that shows the aggression, also, against the lady who accompanied him.
In that sense, legal experts spoke with Hoy Digital and said that Villalona could face up to 10 years in prison.
