Alexandra Ciniglio conquers Madrid with ‘The secret papers of Pape’

The Panamanian journalist and writer, Alexandra Ciniglio is in Madrid, Spain, where the official presentation of her new book entitled “The Secret Papers of Pape” will take place.

Since last week, Ciniglio had presentations with private groups in preparation for what will be the great presentation this Wednesday, November 3, at 7:00 pm at the Centro Sefarad-Israel, an institution of the Spanish Government.

The writer will be accompanied by Eva Leitman-Bohrer, who is the protagonist of this plot and was the person who asked her to reconstruct her history and that of her family, after seeing a series of files found inside an old safe.

In addition to the presentation this Wednesday, there will be a second one on Thursday, November 4, at 7:30 pm in the English Court of Castellana, bookstore department.

It took Ciniglio about three years to put together the pieces of this puzzle, resulting in this biographical work, which is his second book and which he calls “the longest delivery” he has had due to the complexity of the investigation.

Doña Eva was able to learn details of her birth during World War II and how she was saved during the Holocaust, a subject that her parents never wanted to address.

Among the documents found by her were some passports, birth certificates, correspondence, even a birth certificate from her mother revealing that she had survived in a concentration camp.

This book describes it as an enriching work that had the support of the Spanish publisher Nagrela Editores.

After these two presentations in Spain, the work will be unveiled in our country. “We are going to bring it to Panama, it will be available in print, also on Amazon and in a digital version,” he said.

“The Secret Papers of Pape” offers the story of Eva’s family, but also that of millions of victims of the Shoah, while making personal the role of Spain, the ancient Sepharad, which is vindicated thanks to diplomats such as Ángel Sanz Briz, the Angel of Budapest, rescuing them from the clutches of death and offering them a new life.
