In the afternoon of Wednesday it was known that Alexander López Maya presented its irrevocable resignation to the Directorate of the National Planning Department (DNP). He had assumed this load after the departure of Jorge Iván González.
Besides, His arrival had been given after his election as a congressman was annulled by double militancy.

With López, there are already eight officials who leave the Petro government after the ministerial recalls generated by the arrival of Armando Benedetti and the transmission of the last Council of Ministers, on February 4.

López, in fact, was another officials close to the President Gustavo Petro who opposed Benedetti’s presence at that meeting: “They do not represent us in this project and that is not political sectarianism – he said at the time – I had a respect relationship with Laura (Sarabia), but I know he did not have it with other colleagues. With Benedetti the situation is much more complex and is not a second, third or fourth opportunity“
In the aforementioned advice, López also expressed his disagreement on how the Head of State asked for resultsadding that he had requested spaces at the meeting to articulate the projects of future validity and had not been taken into account.

His irrevocable renunciation, however, does not clear the doubt that he will get out of the Petro government, since his name had sounded strongly to reach the Interior Ministry. However, these rumors were before the last Ministerial Council.
