Alex Márquez stays with the 'Pole' of the Argentine GP of MotoGP

the spanishl Alex Márquez (Ducati/Gresini) claimed Pole Position at the Argentine MotoGP Grand Prixand will start in first place both in the Sprint on Saturday and in the race on Sunday at the Termas de Río Hondo circuit (Santiago del Estero, north).

Márquez took first place with a time of 1:43.881on a day of changeable weather, with rain in the free practice session and in Q1, but Q2 was held in dry weather, so the best times came in the last seconds of the tour, when the track began to dry .

The Catalan driver, who obtained the first Pole of his career, made the right choice when using slick tyres, and will be escorted in the front row by the Italian Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati-VR46) and by Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati).

“Starting with pole position is something very positive. I’m very happy. It hasn’t been easy because I crashed with the first bike, I only had one left, and at that moment I was only thinking about moving on to Q2”. Marquez noted.

The Spanish pilot made reference to what happened in Q1, the qualifying round from which he emerged unscathed together with the Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), and in which he rolled on the last lap, but got up immediately and was able to continue, although his bike caught a fire that was quickly extinguished.

On the contrary, The qualifying of Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia) was not good, which was far from the best times, while Quartararo managed to enter Q2 with just enough, but only managed to get to tenth position.

Raúl Fernández (ESP/Aprilia RNF), Fabio Di Giannantonio (ITA/Gresini-Ducati), Brad Binder (RSA/KTM), Jack Miller (AUS/KTM), Augusto Fernández (ESP/KTM) and Joan Mir (ESP/Honda) failed to pass Q1 and will start from 13th to 18th place.
