Álex Contreras Miranda was sworn in as Minister of Economy and Finance as part of the first Cabinet of the Government of Dina Boluartewho was sworn in after the vacancy of Pedro Castillo and his coup.
The new minister held the position of Vice Minister of Economy since August 26, 2021, during the government of Pedro Castillo.
The new ministers are sworn in to their respective positions as part of the first Cabinet of the Dina Boluarte government that began on November 7.

That same day and in a message to the Nation, Pedro Castillo had announced the temporary closure of Parliament and the call for new parliamentary elections, elections that were to be held in nine months.
“For which purpose the following measures are issued: temporarily dissolve the Congress of the Republic and establish an exceptional emergency government. Call in the shortest possible time for elections for a new Congress with constituent powers to prepare a new Constitution within a period of no more than 9 months.he claimed.
After this, the plenary session of Congress approved declaring the vacancy due to permanent moral incapacity and Castillo Terrones proceeded to be intervened by the police. He is currently being investigated for alleged crimes of rebellion and conspiracy for the coup.
